The Groove Knowledge Base allows you to build out a CMS directly from your Groove account. From your Groove dashboard you can manage your Articles, Categories, Look & Feel, and Settings.
Click into your Articles to view all of your articles and their current status, add a new article, or edit an existing one.
Featuring a modern and intuitive article editor, simply add a subject, description, and then start composing.
From the article editor page you can control a variety of different settings for your articles:
Tags — Tag your articles with related keywords to help your users find the right articles.
Related Articles — Give users an easy way to explore your content by adding linked articles to the bottom of your article pages. Read more.
SEO Settings — All SEO meta data is easy to setup & configure (author, title, description, language, etc.) and you now have the option to decide whether you want your article crawled or displayed on Search engines.
Open Graph Settings — All open graph meta data is setup (author, pagetype, language, etc.) and you can choose the title, description, and image that is shown when sharing your articles on social media and instant messaging platforms.
Editing Article Slugs - change the URL for an article as needed.
Unpublished articles will be saved as drafts. Publishing an article makes it live on your knowledge base and visible to the public.
Moving an article to trash places it in your trash folder, where it can either be permanently deleted or restored to your knowledge base.
Managing categories has a similar flow to that of managing articles.
From the category editor you can rearrange the order of your articles within the category by dragging and dropping. You can also manage these category settings:
Category Descriptions — Set a description for each of your categories so your customers know exactly what’s included.
SEO Settings — Just like with articles, you can configure meta titles and descriptions, as well as deciding whether you want your category crawled or displayed on search engines.
Open Graph Settings — Set open graph titles, descriptions, and images that are shown when sharing your categories on social media and instant messaging platforms.
Editing Category Slugs - change the URL for an article as needed.
To change the order of your categories, drag the category up or down the list from the category overview page.
Look & Feel
With the new knowledge base you have the option to select from three different themes, allowing you to have a great looking KB right out-of-the-box.
From the theme editor settings, you can customize your:
Theme - select one of three different designs for your knowledge base.
Header Background Image - set a custom color, upload your own background image, or choose one through our Unsplash integration.
Navigation Links - add in your own navigation items at the top of your KB to help users navigate back to & around your site.
Logo & Favicon - put your brand front and center with your own logo and favicon.
Wording — customize the text of your headline, subheading, and search input.
Custom Colors - set your main and secondary colors for your theme.
Custom Fonts - choose from a selection of fonts from both Adobe Typekit & Google Fonts.
Custom Code - add custom header and footer scripts to your KB.
Article Feedback - enable/disable and choose different types of feedback options for your articles.
Under your knowledge base settings is where you can manage some of the "under the hood" aspects of your KB.
Here you’ll find basic settings for your:
- Knowledge Base Name
- Default URL
Choose from a variety of default languages to localize the text on your knowledge base, or manually change the default wording yourself. Read more.
Restrict access to your knowledge base using either password protection or IP restrictions. Read more.
Control various overall SEO settings for your knowledge base, including:
- Search engine visibility
- Page title
- Meta description
- Open Graph
Enter your tracking ID to add your tracking code to all pages.
Domain & SSL
In your Advanced settings you have the option to:
- Mark a knowledge base as your primary (when you have more than one)
- Redirect your legacy KB URLs
- Delete your KB
