Before You Start

Completing this task requires some jumping back and forth between two accounts. To help the work go smoothly, open your GoDaddy webmail dashboard in one browser tab and your Groove account in another.

Configuring Groove Settings

The first step is to create a Groove Inbox.

  1. Go to your Groove account and make sure the Inbox page displays. If you happen to open a different page, click the Groove icon in the top left corner and then select Unassigned.
  2. Go to the center of the screen and click the Add an inbox button.

  3. In the popup window, click Other email client.

In the next window, fill in two fields.

  1. Enter a unique name for the Groove Inbox. This internal reference helps you quickly understand the source of incoming messages.
  2. Paste in the GoDaddy email address.
  3. Click Next Step.

  4. Go to the Groove window (see screenshot below) and copy the unique Inbox address. Now get ready to leave this browser tab - but don’t close it.

Setting Up GoDaddy Email Forwarding

Go to the browser tab with your GoDaddy webmail dashboard.

  1. Click the Settings (gear) icon in the top right corner.
  2. Click All Settings.

On the Settings page:

  1. Click the Mail heading.
  2. Click the Auto forward button.

In the new window:

  1. Switch on the Auto forward toggle.
  2. Paste in the Groove Inbox address.
  3. Check the box to save a copy of forwarded messages in the GoDaddy email account. (optional)
  4. Click Apply changes.

Completing the Integration

  1. Go back to the browser tab with the open Groove account.
  2. In the popup window, click I’ve setup my email forwarding.

Groove sends a test message. If successful, two events happen.

  1. The test message appears in the GoDaddy webmail account.
  2. Groove displays a popup window that lets you add members to the Groove Inbox. This is an optional step and you can always add team members later. Learn more.

Checking the Results

When the connection completes, Groove removes the warning icon from the Inbox name but does not display the test message.

  • To verify the connection, I sent a test message from a third-party email account to the GoDaddy email address. That message appears in the Groove Inbox. This confirms the GoDaddy Professional Email connection to the Groove Inbox works properly.

That’s it!

Now you know how to forward messages from a GoDaddy Professional Email account to a Groove Inbox.
