This guide outlines the customization options available after enabling Live Chat on your widget. Below, you'll find a detailed explanation of each feature, helping you tailor the chat experience to your users' needs. These settings can be found by navigating to Settings → Widget → [widget name] → Live Chat.

Chat Transcripts

Description: This option allows users to download a full transcript of your Live Chat conversations.
How it works: When enabled, users can download the transcript by clicking the "⋮" button in the top right corner of the widget and selecting "Download chat." The file is saved in plain text format.

Please note: this feature is only available for Live Chat within your Groove account and not the Helply AI chat bot.

Upload and Share Attachments

Description: This setting lets users share files with you during a chat.
How it works: If enabled, users can click the paperclip icon next to the reply input at the bottom right of the widget to upload files. Additionally, they can view all shared files by selecting "See files" from the "⋮" menu.

Allow Emoji Reactions

Description: This feature enables users to react to messages with emojis.
How it works: When activated, users can hover over any message to reveal an emoji button, allowing them to choose an emoji reaction that will appear below the message.

Bot Avatar

Description: This option allows you to customize the avatar image for bot messages.
How it works: You can upload an image that will be displayed as the avatar for any bot-generated messages (e.g., from the Welcome Bot).

Flash the Participant's Browser Tab

Description: This feature alerts users to new messages when they aren't actively viewing the Live Chat tab.
How it works: When enabled, the title of the browser tab flashes to notify the user of a new message. You can customize the text that appears in the tab title during these notifications.

Play a Notification Sound

Description: This option plays a sound when a new message arrives, alerting users who aren't on the Live Chat tab.
How it works: You can choose from various sound options and preview them. Users have the option to mute these sounds by clicking the bell icon in the top right corner of the chat.

Reporting

Current Status: At this time, Groove does not offer reporting capabilities for Live Chat. It's on our radar, though not currently planned for development
