How to connect your Gmail mailbox to Groove (using Oauth)

Last updated on 08 Nov, 2024

Connect a Gmail mailbox with OAuth:

This is the best option for connecting a shared or personal Gmail mailbox in Groove (a mailbox that is neither an alias nor a Google Group address).

Click Settings → Channels → Add channel then follow the instructions to connect your Gmail.

How to Import Your Gmail History After Connecting a Mailbox

If you hadn't selected importing your history when first connecting your mailbox in Groove, you still can import your Gmail history up to 1 year. To Import your Gmail history, navigate to 'Channels' and click 'Edit' on the desired channel:

In the Channel settings, go to the 'Advanced' tab and click the 'Import' button:

You'll be redirected to an Import screen where you can specify how much of your Gmail history to import (up to 1 year), choose whether to close ticket states, and include tags:

State Closed: All imported tickets will be imported in the "Closed" state. (Recommended if you have a lot of email that you've already dealt with before moving your mailbox to Groove)
State Open: Similarly, all imported tickets will be imported in an "Open" state. Note: this may require bulk closing a high number of tickets. At this time there isn't a quick way to do this in the UI.

The import process will run in the background, and you'll receive a notification upon completion.
